  LAND TRANSFER TAX


Provincial (outside of the City of Toronto)

For Single Family or Two Family Homes
  • Up to $55,000 -> 0.5%

  • $55,001 to $250,000 -> 1% minus $275

  • $250,001 to $400,000 -> 1.5% minus $1,525

  • $400,001 & up -> 2% minus $3,525

The first time buyer rebate will reduce the Land Transfer Tax by up to $2,000 for principal residence.



City of Toronto (including Provincial Tax)

For Single Family or Two Family Homes

  • Up to $55,000 -> 1%

  • $55,001 to $250,000 -> 2% minus $550

  • $250,001 to $400,000 -> 2.5% minus $4,275

  • $400,001 & up -> 4% minus $7,800
First time Buyers of principal residences in Toronto receive rebate of up to $3,725 along with their Provincial rebate of up to $2,000.
